About Us

In August, of 1989, God put a vision in the spirit of a man, who has totally surrendered and committed his life to the Lord. This vision from God to Dr. Alexander Arthur was to impart the Word of Life, the Word of God, to the body of Christ and to a dying world. The simple message was (and is) that Christ Jesus has created us anew to live a victorious and abundant life in Him, and for a dying world to know that their freedom from sin has been purchased with the blood of Jesus. This message was to include the message of faith and prosperity, by which believers can possess their inheritance in Christ as they keep hearing and acting upon the Word of God.

Pastor Arthur began a Newsletter titled “The Word of Life” in March of 1989. As the Word of Life Newsletter was distributed throughout Nashville and requests for it rapidly increased, God further instructed him to begin a Monday night bible study in his home.

As the bible study grew in Pastor Arthur’s home, it would become the genesis of Word of Life Church several months later. The Church outgrew the Pastor’s home and later moved to a blessed 93-year-old building on Ashland City Highway for seven years. The building was sold in 1997, to prepare for the new sanctuary now located on Clarksville Highway. Through the kindness and compassion of a brother in the Lord, services were held in Bellevue Grace Assembly until the Word of Life sanctuary was completed to be moved in for Watch Night Service in 1999.

Pastor Arthur became a member of Creflo Dollar Ministerial Association (formally International Covenant Ministries) in July of 1998. He is a son in the ministry to Dr. Creflo Dollar, Jr. of World Changers Church, International, in College Park, Georgia. Pastor Arthur, like Pastor Dollar, believes that with all of our getting, we should get understanding (Proverbs 4:6). And with the understanding and the application of the Word of God, lives are changed, transformed into God’s image of peace, health, abundance and favor.

On January 1, 2000, God blessed Word of Life Christian Center International to move into the new location on Clarksville Highway, Nashville, Tennessee. We give God praise, for “He which has begun a good work in you (us) will also perform it until the day of Jesus Christ (Philippians 1:6).
